Arsenal fans were left praising Emile Smith Rowe after a clip of the Gunners youngster in training surfaced on social media.
Smith Rowe has been one of the brightest talents to come through the club’s academy in years, and is regarded as a generational talent.
Along with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah and Folarina Balogun, Arsenal have an exciting crop of wonderkids breaking into the senior side at the moment.
Arsenal fans have taken to the group of youngsters, with Smith Rowe in particular standing out.
The youngster dubbed the ‘Croydon De Bruyne’ made his feelings for the club evident during training at Colney.
During a clip posted to social media, Smith Rowe jogged past the camera before tapping the crest on his shirt.
Fans loved the footage, and urged the club to build around the youngster, who is believed to be close to signing a new long-term contract.
One wrote: “Probably my favourite player at Arsenal right now.”
Another posted: “Him, Saka, Martinelli are the only reasons I watch full 90 minutes of some of these games this season.”
It isn’t just Arsenal fans who have been impressed by Smith Rowe, as former striker Nwankwo Kanu picked him out as one of Arsenal’s best players at the moment.
“There are two names which spring to mind as far as Arsenal’s player of the season goes; Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka,” Kanu said.
“They offer the team so much through their versatility. Saka can play in so many positions, and when he’s not playing, you can see the side struggles without him.
“Smith Rowe is a very good player. He can open up games and Arsenal definitely need him to play more in the next few years.
“These two, for me, have been the best players for Arsenal this season – they can’t afford for either of those two players to get injured.”
