Blazers to interview Celtics assistant Jerome Allen for head coaching vacancy originally appeared on NBC Sports Northwest

Since Terry Stotts and the Trail Blazers mutually parted ways Friday evening, rumors of candidates have been swirling all over, including Damian Lillard going public in his desire of Jason Kidd.

In addition to the candidates already floated out there, the Trail Blazers plan to interview Boston Celtics assistant coach Jerome Allen per Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe. Allen has already intervieweed for the vancant Celtics head coaching job left behind by Brad Stevens, who was promoted to President of Basketball Operations after the retirement of Danny Ainge this week.

Allen joined the Celtics bench in 2015 after being the head coach at Penn for six seasons, posting a 56-104 record and never making the NCAA tournament. 

With Boston, Allen cooriodnated how the Celtics would attack opposing defensive schemes. With him on the sidelines, Boston had won seven playoff series and made the Eastern Conference Finals three times.
