Outgoing Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is reportedly set to snub Barcelona and join Paris St-Germain this summer.

Wijnaldum, 30, is due to depart the Reds upon the expiry of his contract this month after five years at Anfield.

The Dutch star was widely expected to sign for Barcelona and reunite with former Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman, who is keen to bring him in on a free transfer while working with a limited budget at the Nou Camp.

But according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Wijnaldum has instead decided to snub the Catalans and move to PSG when his Liverpool deal expires.

It is believed the French giants offered to double the salary Barca were offering while Pochettino is said to have called him personally to lure him to Paris, it is reported.

And with Barca unprepared to raise their offer, Wijnaldum is now poised to complete a move to the Parc des Princes next month.

That will come as a major blow for Koeman, who had set his sights on reuniting with his former player.

Barca had also arranged medicals ahead of the Reds star’s impending arrival, which will no longer be needed.

Wijnaldum is now poised to put pen to paper on a three-year contract with PSG, who will be looking to reclaim the French title next season.

He is not the only free agent on their radar this summer, as reports suggest they have also agreed to sign outgoing AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Donnarumma is leaving Milan when his contract expires on June 30, and journalist Duncan Castles says PSG have beaten Juventus to his signature.
