Manchester United are reportedly set to hold discussions over Facundo Pellistri’s future this week, following the winger’s impressive loan spell at Alaves.
The 19-year-old joined United in October last year from Uruguayan side Penarol and he made the move to Alaves in January.
There, Pellistri made 12 appearances, helping Alaves secure safety by finishing two points above the relegation zone.
According to Noticias de Alava, as per Sport Witness, Alaves have a ‘firm desire’ to extend the winger’s loan move for a further season.
However, United are yet to decide whether they want the winger to go back out on loan next year or to stay in and around the first team.
The report claims that United ‘plan to address’ Pellistri’s future in the ‘coming days’ and that ‘everything indicates’ he will be loaned out again next season.
However, Alaves are not the only side interested in his services with Belgian outfit Club Brugge and ‘several British teams’ also eyeing a move for the winger.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer previously claimed Pellistri has “all of the technical qualities and the right mentality required to become a top player” at Old Trafford.
Speaking after he signed for the club, Solskjaer said: “Facundo has the perfect platform at Manchester United to develop and he has all of the technical qualities and the right mentality required to become a top player here.
“We are all looking forward to working with him to fulfil his potential over the coming years.”
At the time, Pellistri said: “To join a club with the history of Manchester United is a dream come true. I have learnt a lot at Penarol and I would like to thank them for everything they have done for me.
