Unai Emery’s 12 Arsenal Signings Where Are They Now?

Arsenal fans are waiting patiently for their club to click into gear this summer in the transfer market.

The Gunners clearly need to strengthen important areas of the squad after their late-season collapse in the fight for Champions League football. However, at the moment rumours regarding possible incoming players are speculative rather than substantial.

For both manager Mikel Arteta and director of football Edu, the coming weeks and the business done may well define their respective off-the-field careers at the Emirates Stadium.

Mirror Sport have the latest Arsenal headlines.

Should Arteta look at changing system next season? Let us know in the comments section below!

Vlahovic opens up on Arsenal interest

Dusan Vlahovic has said he was only ever interested in joining Juventus in January, despite reported interest from the Gunners.

The Serbian left Fiorentina early this year, having established a reputation as one of the best young strikers on the planet.

And despite recent suggestions from former Italy international Antonio Cassano that Vlahovic’s decision to stay in Serie A was “sensationally wrong,” the man himself seemed content with the call he made.

“Maybe my agent knows [about Arsenal’s offer] but I never talked to anyone about it,” he said. “I just had one club in my mind because Juventus is Juventus. There is nothing else to say. And now I feel honoured to be given this jersey. It’s incredible every time I put it on.

“I definitely identify with their DNA. The Juventus personality coincides with my personality. When you come here you never give up, you fight all the time, you make the sacrifices. This was definitely what I was looking for.”

Leno aims dig at Arteta

Bernd Leno’s agent Joannis Koukoutrigas has hit out Arteta’s decision making, suggesting that his client should be the starting goalkeeper at the Emirates Stadium.

Leno lost his place in the team this season following the signing of Aaron Ramsdale, who has gone on to cement his place in the side and earn an international call for England too.

The German appears set to leave the club this summer as a result and his agent has confirmed Fulham are looking to get a transfer over the line.

“Fulham is trying hard to get Bernd,” he said. “Very professionally. This is also true for some other clubs and shows his status.

“But, as I said, for me he is the No.1 at Arsenal and we are therefore also relaxed. He is a German national goalkeeper, has always performed well at Arsenal and is an absolute team player. For me personally, Bernd is also the clear No.1 at Arsenal. With all due respect to the competitors.”

Target hints at system change

Arsenal have been linked with Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer, who has previously outlined his preference to play as part of a three-man defence.

“I prefer a three-man defence because it’s in line with the system with which I’ve consecrated myself,” he said. “I’ve learned how to use my head on the pitch. It’s not a natural quality, you must learn it. You need to understand when it’s the right time to press and when you need to track back.”

William Saliba, who spent the season on loan at Marseille from Arsenal, also played in a three-man defence for much of the campaign and is expected to be in first-team contention in north London next season.
