Welcome back to the Saturday Injury Report!
Every week I’ll be looking at injuries across the league for the upcoming slate of games.
Since this is the final week of the regular season, I’ll be taking a bit of an abridged look across the NFL for notable injury situations to monitor.
Chiefs @ Broncos
The Chiefs are fully healthy as they head into Saturday.
The Broncos are mostly healthy for Saturday’s matchup, including K Brandon McManus. The kicker was on the reserve/COVID-19 but was activated in time for the game.
Cowboys @ Eagles
There isn’t much at stake here for either team. The Eagles will be without the services of RB Miles Sanders, who was ruled out early in the week. The Eagles placed RB Jordan Howard and RB Boston Scott on the reserve/COVID-19 list, suggesting that they will be deploying an RBBC consisting of Kenneth Gainwell and RB Jason Huntley. TE Dallas Goedert was added to the COVID-19 list as well and will miss this matchup. Note that QB Jalen Hurts was limited in practice with an ankle issue on Wednesday and I expect that he will see limited work today.
The Cowboys are mostly healthy for this matchup. The team will be missing several key pieces on defense, most notably LB Micah Parsons. I doubt Parsons suits up later today.
Sunday Early Games
Bengals @ Browns
Browns RB Nick Chubb will play in Week 18. The star running back was limited in practice all week with a rib injury and the team may take it easy on him. Expect to see RB Kareem Hunt return this week. Hunt was limited in practice all week but I’d expect him to see a handful of opportunities. TE David Njoku logged a limited practice on Friday after not practicing all week with a shoulder issue. I’d expect Njoku’s role to be reduced this week.
Packers @ Lions
The Detroit Lions could get QB Jared Goff this weekend. Goff was limited in practice all week and head coach Dan Campbell noted that Goff was “probable” for this week. WR Josh Reynolds was limited in practice all week, but I expect that he will play on Sunday.
Bears @ Vikings
The Vikings are fully healthy this weekend.
Washington @ Giants
Giants QB Mike Glennon is out with a wrist injury and the team will be unleashing QB Jake Fromm this weekend. WR Kadarius Toney and WR John Ross have both been ruled out this weekend. We may see the return of WR Darius Slayton this weekend. Slayton was removed from the injury report for Week 18 and should play his usual complement of snaps.
Colts @ Jaguars
The Colts are fully healthy as they head into the game this weekend. The team also activated WR Parris Campbell from the injured reserve this weekend and it’s to be determined if he will play tomorrow.
The Jaguars are mostly healthy this weekend. TE James O’Shaughnessy missed a full week of practices with a hip injury and was ruled out this week.
Steelers @ Ravens
The Steelers added WR James Washington to the reserve/COVID-19 list on Saturday and he will not clear the COVID protocols in time for the game. WR Diontae Johnson was activated from the reserve/COVID list after one day and will be looking to feast on the Ravens’ pillow-soft secondary unit.
The Ravens will be without the services of QB Lamar Jackson this week. QB Tyler Huntley will once again get the start and will have his full complement of receiving weapons. WR Marquise Brown has been battling an ankle injury but will play this week. Brown practiced in full on Friday, a good sign for his Sunday availability.
Titans @ Texans
The Titans are fully healthy as they head into the weekend.
The Texans will be without the services of WR Chris Conley this week. The speedy receiver has not practiced all week and I doubt he suits up on Sunday.

Sunday Afternoon Games
Saints @ Falcons
Saints WR Tre’Quan Smith will return to the lineup this week after missing the last two weeks with a chest injury. RB Mark Ingram is dealing with a knee injury and is questionable for this weekend’s matchup. Ingram did not practice on Thursday or Friday and is quite likely out but monitor the news reports.
Falcons TE Kyle Pitts is questionable for this week but is trending in the right direction. Pitts practiced on Thursday and Friday and should suit up against the Saints.
Jets @ Bills
The Jets will be without WR Braxton Berrios this week. Berrios did not practice all week and was placed on injured reserve on Friday. This should free up some targets for WR Jamison Crowder, who was limited in practice all week before logging a logged a full practice on Friday. The Jets will also get RB Michael Carter back, who practiced in full on Thursday and Friday.
The Bills will probably be without the services of WR Emmanuel Sanders this weekend. Sanders did not practice all week and was listed as “doubtful” for Sunday’s game. Expect Gabriel Davis’ late-season explosion to continue.
49ers @ Rams
Expect Niners RB Elijah Mitchell to see the bulk of the workload against the Rams this weekend. Mitchell practiced in full on Friday and does not have an injury tag. In a surprise, QB Jimmy Garoppolo practiced in limited fashion all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday. Head coach Kyle Shanahan noted that if Garoppolo is healthy, he will be the team’s locked-in starter. Monitor the news for any updates about Garoppolo’s status for Sunday’s slate of games.
The Rams are fully healthy this week. RB Cam Akers practiced in full all week and according to head coach Sean McVay, the running back appeared to be “full speed, flying around” at Wednesday’s practice. I’d expect Akers to get some run this weekend.
Patriots @ Dolphins
Patriots WR Nelson Agholor appears to be back this week and should have a full-time role this weekend. WR Jakobi Meyers was limited in practice all week with a thigh injury, but I expect him to suit up this weekend. RB Damien Harris remains limited in practice with a thigh injury and was listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup. Given that the team needs to win this matchup, I’d expect that we see Harris play his usual complement of snaps.
The Dolphins are fully healthy for Sunday’s game against the Patriots.
Seahawks @ Cardinals
The Seattle Seahawks are fully healthy as they roll into their last matchup of the season.
The Arizona Cardinals will be without RB Chase Edmonds this week but should get RB James Conner back. Conner was limited in practice all week and should see the bulk of the carries against the Seahawks’ porous run defense. WR Rondale Moore was declared out with an ankle injury after missing practice on Friday.
Panthers @ Buccaneers
Panthers WR Robby Anderson did not practice all week with a quad injury and could potentially miss the game tomorrow.
The Buccaneers will be without RB Ronald Jones, which should lock in RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn as an every-down workhorse. WR Mike Evans practiced in full all week and should be ready to go as the team’s alpha on Sunday.
Sunday Night Football
Chargers @ Raiders
The Chargers are fully healthy as they head into Sunday Night Football.
The Raiders are in the process of getting healthier. RB Josh Jacobs was limited in practice all week but will see his usual complement of work. TE Darren Waller was limited in practice all week and is listed as a game-time decision for Sunday Night Football. Waller’s return will ostensibly dampen the outlook for TE Foster Moreau.
Enjoy the games, everyone!
